Jack Bloemendaal, 81, the co-founder (along with Willis Stockdale) of The Photographic Historical Society, died on Sept. 17, 2022.  The society, based in Rochester, NY, is the oldest such group in the world, founded in January of 1966.  He was an Eastman Kodak design engineer, a camera collector, and an active participant in TPHS for the past 56 years.  A celebration of life will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Webster Christian Reformed Church, 1344 State Rd. In Webster, NY.


The Photographic Historical Society began over 50 years ago as a club for photo-historians and camera collectors in Rochester, NY USA. It has grown to an organization of several hundred international members who share an interest in the history of photography, and in the collection of its images and artifacts.
